Janek Mann is a senior Research Fellow in Centre for Speckled Computing, School of Informatics, with expertise in distributed software partitioning, programming models, and wireless communication protocols for the distributed wireless paradigm. He has developed wireless medical hardware devices such as pressure transducers for validation of respiratory monitoring technology, temperature monitoring devices, and the "ReSpeck" wireless respiratory device including all stages of hardware/software from initial prototype through to manufacture including casing design, CE marking and MHRA registration.
